Pangea Sculptures cordially invites you to The Purple Poppy Event.
On Wednesday 17th October, Pangea are offering customers 20% off all sculptures and donating 10% of all sales made online and at the Ormskirk showroom in aid of The War Horse Memorial – a tribute to the millions of allied and commonwealth horses, donkeys and mules lost during The Great War of 1914-1918.

In a recognition of this immeasurable animal contribution, The War Horse Memorial is a community interested organisation set up specifically to raise funds for charities working directly with rescued war horses today.
One of their chosen charities, The Household Cavalry Foundation, is the official charity for the Household Cavalry. Supporting all of its members including serving soldiers, operational casualties, veterans and their families, The Foundation also cares for a group of retired horses, giving them the utmost love and appreciation they deserve.

The other charity is Mane Chance. Established in 2011 by actress Jenny Seagrove, a herd of kind and endearing rescue horses teach and heal in a sanctuary visited by the terminally ill. Working with a local hospice, young people can relax amongst gentle Shetlands whilst autistic individuals benefit from the tranquility of the surroundings. Some amazing results have been produced, highlighting just how therapeutic and comforting these amazing animals are.

This is something we have also witnessed in responses to our beautiful horse sculpture in the showroom. From young children to the elderly and those experiencing learning difficulties, when seeing the sculpture in real life, it seems to calm and inspire any mind in a unique bond between art and wildlife.

ations and to raise money in their support, Pangea Sculptures are inviting local businesses, customers and press to attend the event at 164 County Road in Ormskirk. The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Gaynar Owen, is also attending.
The evening will run from 5pm until 7.30pm, with nibbles and prosecco on arrival. You can also look forward to a display of memorabilia from the war, as well as more information about the horses that lost their lives and those which were rescued – making it back to the UK after the war’s end.

work by horses and humans alike involved in such dedicated organisations. Customers and guests buying on the 17th October will receive a complimentary gift from Pangea as an extra thank you.
The horse sculpture at Pangea Sculptures captures the strength, dignity and beauty of this respected creature and will be proudly on display in Booths Burscough and Tesco Burscough in the run up to Armistice Day on 11th November.
